The Institute of Human Clinical Pathology
The Institute of Clinical Human Pathology of Zaporizhzhia State Medical University has been working since 2003.
Professor Valery Tumansky is the Director of the Institute. Doctor of Medical Sciences Valery Tumansky is the pathologist of the highest qualification category, specialist in the field of pathomorphology of the CNS, liver and pancreas, oncopathology, obstetric pathology, resuscitation pathology and intensive care.
The Institute of Clinical Pathology has the modern high-tech equipment, performs molecular cell, physicochemical, densitometric, immunohistochemical, pathohistological, electron microscopic and computer morphometric studies.
The structure of the Institute includes 5 main laboratories: molecular immunohistochemistry, computer histomorphometry and densitometry, electronic microscopy and computer morphometry of submicroscopic structures, histochemistry and neuromorphology, spectrophotometry.
The main tasks of the Institute are the development and implementation of new technologies of early in-life morphological diagnosis of human diseases, as well as new methods of reliable interpretation of thanatogenesis.
The Department of Biopsy Diagnosis of Diseases of the Liver, Kidneys, Pancreas, Breast and Prostate gland uses puncture biopsies to perform morphological and immunohistochemical diagnostics of hepatitis and cirrhosis of the liver, glomerulonephritis and nephropathy, and oncological pathology of the palatine system.
The Department of pathology of kidney and liver transplants uses puncture biopsies to determine the suitability of donor kidneys for transplantation, as well as conducts morphological monitoring of the condition of grafts in patients in the postoperative period.
The department of pathomorphological diagnostics of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract by endoscopic biopsies performs morphological diagnosis of gastritis, peptic ulcer disease, benign and malignant tumors of the stomach and intestines.
The Department of obstetrics and gynecology and reproductive pathology performs differential morphological diagnosis of dyshormonal, inflammatory, tumor-like and tumor diseases of the genitals by biopsies of the testicles, prostate, cervix, endometrial scrapings.
