ZSMPhU Campus in Zakarpattia (Transcarpathia)
Winter Session in Berehove
The winter examination session for international students of Zaporizhzhia State Medical and Pharmaceutical University, studying at the Zakarpattia campus of ZSMPhU, based at Berehove Medical College (Berehove, Zakarpattia region), is in full swing. Students take four exams, each consisting of a test and an oral component.
The students successfully showcased their knowledge of Pathophysiology, leaving both students and faculty satisfied with the results of both the test and oral assessments. Commenting on the course of the Pathophysiology exam and the students’ preparation, Professor Olha Hancheva, Head of the Department of Pathological Physiology with a course in Normal Physiology, noted that during the oral interviews, international students demonstrated a high level of understanding of the course material. They provided interesting clinical examples and showed a solid grasp of the mechanisms of development and progression of pathological processes.
Meanwhile, the Pathological Morphology exam is also conducted in two stages: written tests and oral interviews. According to Professor Serhii Tertyshnyi, Head of the Department of Pathological Anatomy and Forensic Medicine, the results of the written part indicate that students are well-prepared for the first stage of the Unified State Qualification Exam (USQE), a goal they have been working toward over the past year. The professor highlights the importance of personal interaction with each student as a vital part of assessing the quality of their knowledge.
The international students have several more exams lying ahead. In early February, they will face the first stage of the USQE—KROK 1—as well as an exam in English for Professional Purposes. Preparations for these critical assessments are ongoing.
