Historical Reference

The Department was founded in 1959.

Since 1998 it is headed by Professor Yevhenii Knysh.

The Department is training base for the preparation of pharmacists and pharmaceutical bachelors in specialty "Phamracy. Industrial Pharmacy" with educational programs "Pharmacy" and "Technology of Perfume-Cosmetic Preparations".

Educational Disciplines

Third-to-fifth-year students of the Pharmaceutical Faculty majoring in "Pharmacy" (full-time and part-time) study: Pharmacy Organization and Economics, Pharmaceutical Management and Marketing, Quality Systems in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical and Medical Commodity Science, Elective Specialization, Pharmacoeconomics.

Third-to-fifth-year students of the Pharmaceutical Faculty majoring in "Technology of Perfume-Cosmetic Preparations" (full-time and part-time) study: Pharmacy Organization and Economics, Pharmaceutical Management and Marketing, Quality Systems in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical and Medical Commodity Science, Pharmacoeconomics.

Educational and Methodical Work

The training of students at the Department is based on the principles of providing methodical and informational organization of the educational process with elements of independent work, as well as on the introduction of new effective forms of knowledge and skills control. A bank of test tasks in the amount of more than 5,000 tests, has been created for the KROK-2 licensed testing.

According to the curriculum, working programs in all disciplines have been created. Original lectures are given exclusively with the use of multimedia technologies.

The Department published educational and methodical manuals for practical classes, independent work, test tasks in all academic disciplines for domestic and foreign students of the Pharmaceutical Faculty.

The main research focus of the Department is "Scientific-Theoretical and Organizational-Methodical Researches of Legal, Social and Economic Aspects of Pharmaceutical Activity and Medical Practice in Ukraine Under Health Care System Restructuring" (state reg. No. 0120U102199).

Under the leadership of Professor Yevhenii Knysh 1 doctoral and 9 candidate dissertations were defended. Lecturers of the Department received 59 patents, more than 60 copyright certificates, published about more than 1,000 publications.

Cooperation with Other Institutions

The Department maintains scientific relations with the National University of Pharmacy (Kharkov), Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education (Kyiv), pharmaceutical faculties of leading medical universities of Ukraine.
