Educational and Methodical Work

In accordance with the academic curricula and taking into account the Bologna Declaration, work programs, syllabi from all disciplines, original (including multimedia) lectures in Ukrainian, Russian and English were created, topics of seminars, practical classes, independent and individual work of students were developed.

Methodical recommendations on the taught disciplines have been issued for full-time and part-time students.

The Department created sets of tests for final and module examsfor effective assessment of knowledge and skills of students, developed tasks for independent work in the disciplines "History of Ukraine and Ukrainian Culture", "Ukrainian Language for Specific Purposes", "Ukrainian as Foreign Language", "Pedagogics and Psychology", "Research Rethodology", "Pedagogics and Teaching Methods in Higher Education".

Scientific Directions and Achievements

The staff of the Department works on the research "Text as Phenomenon of Culture: Issues of Genre, Style, Artistic Information".

Professor Olha Turhan is an opponent during defenses of doctoral and candidate dissertations, a member of the Editorial Board of scientific periodicals.

Professor Tetiana Hrebeniuk is an opponent during defenses of doctoral and candidate dissertations, a member of the Editorial Board of the scientific journal and a member of the European Narratology Network.

Lectureres of the Department take an active part in the work of national and international conferences and congresses, have numerous scientific publications in professional journals. They constanly participate in national and international scientific conferences, publish scientific articles, reviewed works on the theory and history of Ukrainian literature and teaching materials in the humanities.

Under the guidance of lecturers of the Department, meetings of the section of humanities are held within the annual Conferences of Young Scientists and Students, which is held at ZSMPhU.

Lecturers of the Department manage the research work of students: preparation for participation in the All-Ukrainian competition of scientific student works, in the Olympiad in profile disciplines.

In 2019, a seminar-meeting on "Actual Issues of Organizing Educational Process in Discipline "Ukrainian as Foreign Language" in HEI of Ministry of Health of Ukraine" was held on the basis of the Department.
Cooperation with Other Institutions
The Department cooperates (participation in scientific conferences and exchange of information) with the Palacký University Olomouc (Czech Republic), Jagiellonian University in Kraków (Poland), as well as with numerous Ukrainian universities.
Associate Professor Yurii Hanoshenko took part in an international project to compile a dictionary "Leksykon aktywnej frazeologii polskiej i ukraińskiej" (Roman Tymoshuk, Wojciech Sosnowski, Maciej Jaskot, Yurii Ganoshenko; Institute of Slavic Studies, Polish Academy of Sciences; SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities).
Pedagogic and Organizational Activities
Lecturers of the Department annually conduct:

rector's dictation for freshmen in the Ukrainian language;

Radiodictation of National Unity;

celebration of the Day of Ukrainian Literature and Language;

Ukrainian language courses for ZSMPhU lecturers;

1st stage of the Petro Jacik All-Ukrainian Competition in Ukrainian Language;

1st stage of the Taras Shevchenko International Language and Literature Competition;

student Olympiad in Ukrainian language.
Their winners take part in the All-Ukrainian student Olympiads and competitions of scientific works in the Ukrainian Language and Cultural Studies.
Literary and artistic events dedicated to the memory of leading figures of Ukrainian and world culture are regularly organized and held. For example, in December 2016, the Department held a University Literary and Artistic Event dedicated to the anniversary of the birth of Ivan Franko.
The Department organizes the celebration of significant dates in the history of Ukrainian culture in the form of lectures, round tables, wall newspapers.
