Certification and testing laboratory of perfumes and cosmetics
Zaporizhzhia State Medical and Pharmaceutical University is the only higher educational institution of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, which is entrusted by the state to conduct state quality control of consumer goods. Certification testing laboratory of perfumes and cosmetics and household chemicals of the university operates with the participation of the departments of drug technology, pharmaceutical chemistry, microbiology, physical and colloid chemistry.

The main tasks and functions of the laboratory:
Certification tests of products are carried out on the basis of decisions of territorial offices of Ukraine. Serial quality control of products is carried out on the basis of appeals of manufacturers or trade organizations, as well as at the request of controlling enterprises (State Committee for Consumer Protection, sanitary inspection bodies, prosecutors, etc.).
All work performed by the laboratory is carried out on a contractual basis.
Historical background
Certification testing laboratory of perfumes and cosmetics and household chemicals of Zaporizhzhia State Medical University was established in December 1992 on the basis of the departments of drug technology, physical and colloid chemistry and microbiology. The head of the department of drug technology, doctor of pharmacies sciences Professor Golovkin VA is the founder of the laboratory. He managed the work until 2007.
In 1993 the laboratory was accredited by the State Standard of Ukraine for technical competence and independence in the field of certification testing of perfumes and cosmetics and household chemicals, in 1994 it was accredited by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine for toxicological evaluation of products.
Since 1997 the laboratory was re-accredited in the field of certification testing of culinary products.
The laboratory undergoes re-accreditation, confirming the compliance of its status and conditions with the state requirements for testing laboratories every three years.
The presence of the laboratory was one of the main factors that contributed to the positive decision of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine to open in 2004 a new specialty for training students of the Faculty of Pharmacy - "Technology of perfumes and cosmetics."
The fund of normative documentation accumulated by the laboratory during its existence and extensive practical experience contributes to the quality training of pharmacists-cosmetologists.
