Second Stage of All-Ukrainian Academic Competition for Students on "Emergency Medicine. First Aid for Emergencies"

The second stage of All-Ukrainian academic competition for students on "Emergency Medicine. First Aid for Emergencies" was held at National Pirogov Memorial Medical University, Vinnytsya as per the order of The Ministry of the health of Ukraine No. 1313 of 28/11/2018 on 16-17 May 2019.

Petro Andreiev and Andrii Dobridnii who are third-year students of Medical Faculty No. 1 and Medical Faculty No. 2 upheld the honor of Zaporizhzhia State Medical and Pharmaceutical University. Petro and Andrii were trained at the Department of Medical Catastrophes, Military Medicine, Anesthesiology and Intensive Care.

Masterclasses in the arrest of major bleeding, airway management, injured patient examination in first aid stage and basic resuscitation with automatic external defibrillator usage were organized for students in the academic competition. Practical part of the academic competition consisted of simulative cases in basic pneumocardial resuscitation for pregnant, first aid and emergency care for patients with multiple trauma (for patients after RTI) emergency care due to Tactical Combat Casualty Care system in peace-time. The theoretical part of the academic competition consisted of testing.

32 participants who were 3rd-5th year students of other higher medical institutions took part in this difficult competition. Our students reached the top ten. Well done!
