Historical Reference

The Faculty was established in 2015.

Training of dentists at Zaporizhzhia State Medical and Pharmaceutical University began in 2007 along with the foundation of a Dentistry course. In July 2010, the course was reorganized into the Department of Dentistry.

To optimize the educational, pedagogical and research processes, as well as to improve the training of students majoring in "Dentistry" in September 2011 there was a need for structural reorganization into two departments: "General and Special Dentistry" and "Otorhinolaryngology and Propaedeutic Dentistry". In September 2012, the Department of General and Special Dentistry began training dentists, interns and masters. In 2012, the first 29 dentists graduated the department. In October 2013, in order to improve the educational process, the department was reorganized into the Department of Therapeutic, Orthopedic and Pediatric Dentistry and the Department of Propaedeutic and Surgical Dentistry. In 2014, there was the first graduation of dentists-interns and 3 masters at the department. In 2015, the department carried out the first graduation of foreign dentists and 2 clinical residents.

In 2017, the recruitment of students majoring in 227 Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy has begun at the Medical Faculty No. 3.

After graduation, graduates of the Medical Faculty No. 3 receive a diploma of the state standard, which certifies their higher education.

Material and Technical Base

The material and technical base of the Faculty fully provides the conditions for training specialists in "Dentistry" and "Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy", and meets the requirements of the educational program.

As an innovative direction, the Faculty has created a new Dental Training Center, which is equipped with 8 dental units with phantoms of the oral cavity, a phantom class equipped with 10 phantoms with video software, which allow to master practical skills in student training programs and treatment room with a dental unit for patients treatment.

The Faculty has developed a computer training system based on basic computer classes, provided free access to the Internet. Modern multimedia technologies are used. The University library provides students with educational, reference and methodical literature to the full extent.

Teaching Staff

There are 8 professors, 7 doctors of medical sciences, 20 associate professors, 28 candidates of medical sciences, 29 assistants working at the departments of the Faculty.

Faculty Students

About 500 students study at the Faculty. Students have the opportunity to engage in research work as part of the Student Research Society. They present their reports at the final scientific conferences of the University, in other universities of the country and at international scientific conferences in other countries.

Students majoring in "Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy" study in a clinic of internal medicine, in pediatrics and neurology, in disorders of the musculoskeletal system. They gain basic knowledge of classical and therapeutic massage, biomechanics and clinical kinesiology, the use of preformed physical factors, clinical psychology, clinical rehabilitation management in the professional field.

The Faculty has all the conditions for students' leisure. The sports club of the University has sections for classes in almost all sports. Most students are active participants in amateur art of ZSMPhU and KVN.

The Faculty has dormitories, which create all the conditions for preparation for classes and recreation of students. There is an Internet network, a library and a reading room. It is also equipped with cooking facilities and personal hygiene rooms.

Student self-government body, trade union organization of students and student councils of dormitories successfully operate at the Faculty.

Powerful human resources of the Faculty, modern information and logistical support of the educational process, as well as scientific and clinical activities allow to achieve a high level of training of students, masters, postgraduate students and doctoral students, and to introduce innovative pedagogical and medical technologies.
