International Students Complete Defense of Master's Theses

A special highlight of the summer examination session at the International Faculty was the successful completion of the final attestation and studies at ZSMPhU. One hundred percent of foreign final-year students enrolled in the "Pharmacy" educational program successfully defended their Master's theses. Students from the Republic of Bulgaria were the first to complete their university course, followed ultimately by citizens of Morocco.

"This year, over 80 international students successfully defended their Master's theses," noted the Dean of the International Faculty, Associate Professor Taras Ivanenko. "The Attestation Commission, chaired by Professor Liudmyla Kucherenko, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical, Organic, and Bioorganic Chemistry, is pleased with the results. All Master's students submitted their work to the commission on time, and it was thoroughly analyzed. Research supervisors and the students themselves put a great deal of effort into preparing them. The defense itself took place in a warm yet demanding atmosphere, with a large number of questions put to the candidates."

Professors from the pharmaceutical departments highlighted the relevance and modernity of the chosen topics. For example, Moroccan students focused on modeling the biological activity of compounds. The practical significance of these studies lies in the fact that under current conditions—where funding for scientific research is limited—it is highly beneficial to optimize research through prior computer modeling. In today's environment, particularly during wartime, this approach helps save financial resources and make research more efficient. The students also developed a research area focused on predicting dosage forms based on active pharmaceutical ingredients intended for oral administration. This involved conducting a series of mathematical and laboratory studies required to formulate such dosage forms.

After the defense, Drhimer Mohamed, the monitor of the English-speaking group of Moroccan graduates, addressed the Attestation Commission. He expressed his sincere gratitude to the university administration, the faculty dean's office, and all the teaching staff for the high standards of quality in pharmaceutical education provided at the university.
