Surgical Resident from Ecuador Undergoes Training with Surgeons at ZSMPhU

The Department of General Surgery and Postgraduate Surgical Education of Zaporizhzhia State Medical and Pharmaceutical University, headed by Professor Serhii Zavhorodnii, continues to strengthen international cooperation and share professional expertise with colleagues from abroad.

Currently, a physician from Ecuador, Carlos Pesantez, is successfully undergoing a clinical training program at the department. Dr. Pesantez is actively completing a demanding postgraduate training program and has already demonstrated himself to be a responsible and highly promising specialist.

Under the guidance of the department’s faculty, Carlos is deepening his theoretical knowledge of modern surgery. The international trainee is directly involved in the diagnostic and treatment process, assisting during surgical procedures and adopting advanced techniques from the Ukrainian surgical school. The young doctor is integrating into the clinical team, demonstrating a high level of motivation.

The choice of ZSMPhU by a medical professional from Ecuador is further confirmation of the university’s strong international reputation and the high quality of Ukrainian medical education on the global stage.

Professor Serhii Zavhorodnii notes:

“The department staff is pleased to welcome our colleague to the team. We are creating all the necessary conditions for Dr. Pesantez to gain maximum practical experience and professional skills required for future independent practice. We wish Carlos inspiration in his studies and continued success in mastering the challenging yet noble profession of a surgeon.”
