Recently, the annual Congress of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology took place in Paris. Zaporizhzhia State Medical and Pharmaceutical University was represented by Halyna Makurina, Head of the Department of Dermatovenereology and Aesthetic Medicine, and Liliya Horodokina, the department’s assistant, who holds a PhD.
“The Congress of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) is an annual international dermatology event where specialists in the field of dermatovenereology exchange experience, learn about the latest scientific achievements and innovative technologies in this field,” shares her impressions, Halyna Ivanivna. “This year it was the largest congress in the history of EADV — about 20,000 participants from more than 100 countries. To participate in the congress, we submitted a poster presentation that highlighted the practical results of our department, specifically rare dermatoses, and the organizers invited us to attend personally. The event included practical workshops, specialized sessions, expert presentations, as well as an exhibition space, where cutting-edge developments in the diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases were presented.
An important event was the awarding of named scholarships from one of the former Chairpersons of the congress — the Michael Hornstein Memorial Scholarship. This year, they were awarded to fifty-three participants from different countries of the world, and it is pleasant that one of the scholarship holders was our Liliya Oleksiivna. The congress is a wonderful platform for building new acquaintances, communication, knowledge, and inspiration.”
