Lecturers of the Department of Medical Biology, Parasitology and Genetics of Zaporizhzhia State Medical and Pharmaceutical University, Kseniia Havrylenko and Oleksandra Shemetenko, have become members of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI).
Membership in this leading international scientific community opens up wide opportunities for our colleagues’ professional growth: participation in major European congresses, access to cutting-edge research programmes, and broadening of scientific collaboration with specialists from around the world.
EAACI is an international organisation that unites more than 16,000 professionals from 124 countries. It focuses on the study of allergies, asthma, and immunodeficiencies and also closely cooperates with researchers from related fields. Membership in the Academy offers access to leading knowledge, scientific publications, and research networks.
Under the guidance and mentorship of Associate Professor Oleksandr Prykhodko, Head of the Department of Medical Biology, Parasitology and Genetics, our specialists, working at the Aerobiology Laboratory of Zaporizhzhia State Medical and Pharmaceutical University, are studying the aeroallergen situation in the city. Such research enables the analysis of aeroallergen dynamics. In particular, studies of plant pollen and fungal spores help predict periods of increased risk for individuals prone to allergic reactions. As a result, it becomes possible to promptly inform the public about the presence of allergens in the air, which is crucial for the prevention of seasonal allergies.
We congratulate our colleagues and wish them further success in their important scientific endeavours!
