On August 10, a treacherous enemy strike caused damage to the buildings of the University Clinic of Zaporizhzhia State Medical and Pharmaceutical University (ZSMPhU).

 

Fortunately, there were no human casualties. However, many windows in the facility were shattered, the roof was damaged, and other significant destruction occurred. According to preliminary estimates, the damage amounts to several million hryvnias.

 

The Educational and Scientific Medical Center “University Clinic” of ZSMPhU is an exceptionally important part of both the university’s structure and the city and region as a whole. In addition to training students and medical interns as well as carrying out extensive scientific research, this leading medical institution of Zaporizhzhia Region — operating under agreements with the National Health Service of Ukraine — provides multidisciplinary, highly qualified medical care to the region’s population. The clinic is equipped with unique diagnostic and treatment facilities.

 

Regrettably, due to the damage, the clinic has temporarily suspended patient admissions, and the inpatient department has been closed. Both the clinic’s staff and the ZSMPhU team are committed to eliminating the consequences of the treacherous enemy attack as quickly as possible.

 

We express our gratitude to all emergency services who promptly arrived at the scene and are participating in restoration work.

 

Despite the destruction, we remain unbreakable. The teams of the university and the clinic are already working on restoration so that we can resume receiving and treating patients as soon as possible. The enemy will not break our will — we will endure, and we will prevail!
