Summer Training in Moldova
As part of the international partnership between Zaporizhzhia State Medical and Pharmaceutical University (ZSMPhU) and ”Nicolae Testemitanu” State University of Medicine and Pharmacy of the Republic of Moldova (Chișinău, Republic of Moldova), students of ZSMPhU had a unique opportunity to complete a summer internship abroad.
The clinical training took place at leading medical institutions in Chișinău — the Republican Children’s Hospital named after E. Coțaga and the Institute of Cardiology. Students had the opportunity to gain valuable practical experience, interact with patients, participate in clinical work, and observe the activities of highly qualified physicians.
“This internship gave us the chance to witness firsthand the work of talented surgeons and to exchange experiences with future colleagues from Moldova — it was extremely valuable knowledge,” shared Diana Litvinova, a second-year student of the Third Faculty of Medicine.
“We were able to apply the knowledge we received at ZSMPhU to real clinical cases, which is extremely important,” said Adelina, a fifth-year student of the Second Faculty of Medicine, who, together with her fellow student from the same course, Yelyzaveta Kobyleshna, completed the internship at the Institute of Cardiology.
"During the month-long internship, we interacted with patients and participated in the work of the medical staff. It was a wonderful opportunity to systematize the knowledge we had gained at our university. We sincerely thank our university for giving us the chance to see how the healthcare system operates in Moldova and to gain international experience! We are very grateful to our Moldovan colleagues for their hospitality, support, and mentorship,” shared Yelyzaveta.
The students also highlighted the well-organized structure, the intensive schedule, and the convenient training format, which allowed them to fully immerse themselves in the clinical environment and reinforce the knowledge acquired during their studies.
The ZSMPhU team sincerely thanks its Moldovan partners for the warm welcome, professional support, and the opportunity provided to the students to expand their competencies in an international setting. The cooperation between the universities continues and will further open new development opportunities.
