International Final-Year Medical Students Take OSCE

Five groups of English-speaking graduates from the International Faculty, studying medicine in Ukraine, are today taking the OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) as part of their final attestation. This exam represents the second stage of the Unified State Qualification Exam (USQE).

The OSCE is being held at the university’s OSCE Center, in the presence of the Attestation Commission, chaired by Professor Serhii Dotsenko, Head of the Department of Internal Medicine No. 3. The process is technically supported by specialists from the Center for Distance Education, Telemedicine, and Quality Assurance in Education.

According to Associate Professor Taras Ivanenko, Dean of the International Faculty, international students have already successfully completed the first stage of the USQE – KROK 2 – and have prepared well for this second stage. The OSCE is a comprehensive clinical skills assessment, where students are required to pass 10 stations, including two interactive scenarios using Body Interact simulation. They are required to demonstrate their practical skills and knowledge in four core medical disciplines: internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, and pediatrics. Upon completion of all stations, each student receives a unified final grade.

Professor Serhii Dotsenko, Head of the Attestation Commission, noted that today marks the conclusion of final attestation for both Ukrainian and international graduates pursuing degrees in Medicine and Pediatrics. The second stage of the USQE, conducted in the OSCE format, was held in an organized manner. Students approached the exam consciously and responsibly, demonstrating a good level of professional competence.
