The Baltic University Programme (BUP) Teacher's Day, dedicated to the theme "Ethical, Educational, and Sustainable Approaches to Artificial Intelligence," was held online. The event brought together participants from universities in the BUP international network. Zaporizhzhia State Medical and Pharmaceutical University was represented by Professor Alla Kulichenko from the Department of Foreign Languages, Associate Professor Marianna Tavroh from the Department of Histology, Cytology, and Embryology, and assistants from the same department — Liudmyla Makieieva and Olena Popazova.
The event focused on analyzing the impact of artificial intelligence on society, education, and the environment. Professor of Philosophy Martin Gustafsson from Åbo Akademi University (Finland) highlighted the ethical aspects of integrating AI into educational practices. His colleague, Tomasz Lehecka, a lecturer in Swedish language and general linguistics, shared his perspective on changes in the humanities under the influence of emerging technologies.
Participants actively discussed the need to integrate the principles of sustainable development into AI-related educational programs, emphasizing the importance of critical thinking, ethical reflection, and environmental responsibility in the use of modern technologies.
The 2025 Teacher’s Day served as an important platform for a shared vision of the future of education in the face of the challenges humanity encounters in the age of artificial intelligence.
