Indian Students Study Faculty Pediatrics
Faculty pediatrics is an essential stage in the education of international medical students pursuing higher medical education at the Berehove campus of ZSMPhU and planning to work with children. Great emphasis is placed on practical training. It takes place at the Berehove Hospital named after Bertolon Linner under the supervision of experienced doctors.
During their studies, students receive theoretical knowledge about the development of the child’s body, infant care basics, and diagnostic and treatment methods for pediatric diseases. They also learn about vaccination and disease prevention in children.
Theory is successfully combined with practice. Students observe the treatment process, learn to examine children, make diagnoses, prescribe treatment, and communicate with young patients and their parents. Favorable learning conditions are created for Indian students, including English-language instruction, adapting the educational programs to international standards, and the opportunity to practice in hospitals with a high patient volume.
Olena Fedoseeva, Assistant Professor of Faculty Pediatrics and Ph.D., notes that during the course, students have thoroughly studied the course of acute respiratory diseases, bronchitis, bronchiolitis, bronchopneumonia, and pneumonia, as these pathologies are the most common pediatric conditions. They also reviewed a clinical case of a patient with Down syndrome and a child with protein-energy malnutrition. The professor is confident that, thanks to the comprehensive approach to education, foreign students acquire the necessary knowledge and skills for their future medical practice.
