Foreign students celebrated Shevchenko Days

The Department of Language and General Theoretical Training organized a series of events dedicated to Taras Shevchenko's birthday simultaneously in online and offline formats (Berehove, Ukraine). In classrooms, the poems of the great Kobzar were recited, and his quotes, which have become legendary, were cited.

The teachers recited Shevchenko's poems: "Учітеся, брати мої" (Learn, my brothers) by Associate Professor Kateryna Heychenko, "За сонцем хмаронька пливе" (The cloud floats after the sun) by Associate Professor Olena Tsupikova, "Встала весна" (Spring has risen) (a fragment from the poem "Haidamaky") by Senior Lecturer Yulia Kravchenko, and "Попрощалось ясне сонце" (The bright sun has said goodbye) by Senior Lecturer Svitlana Hnatenko.

Throughout the thematic week, lecturers and students from Morocco held a flashmob titled "His Words – His Magnificent Song". Second-year students of the "Dentistry" program recited Shevchenko’s lyrical works, which celebrate nature, spring, and love. For example, "Сонце гріє, вітер віє" (The sun shines, the wind blows) was recited by Ait Salem Abdelmouhit, "Зацвіла в долині червона калина" (The red viburnum bloomed in the valley) by Ait Salem Amal, and "Дивлюся, аж світає" (I look and it is dawn) by Enkaiui Hasnae.

Associate Professor Larysa Vasetska held a discussion with Bulgarian students from group 1a of the first year of the "Pharmacy, Industrial Pharmacy" program on the topic "Taras Shevchenko: Interesting Facts from His Biography." This discussion helped conduct an online journey through the writer's life and creative path. The event was held remotely, yet this did not prevent students from gaining much interesting information and positive emotions.

Shevchenko readings on the topic: "Let’s Start in Ukrainian with a Page from 'Kobzar'" were held with students from Turkey in the 1st group of the first year of the "Medicine" program under the guidance of Senior Lecturer Yulia Chorna. In Berehove, under the guidance of Senior Lecturer Olga Chernovol, readings were held with students from Ecuador. Additionally, Ecuadorian students visited the exhibition-installation "Taras Shevchenko Paints Ukraine" dedicated to the poet’s birthday.
