Hospital Surgery Cycle for International Students

Hospital Surgery Cycle for International Students

Sixth-year medical students from India and Nigeria, studying at the International Faculty of Zaporizhzhia State Medical and Pharmaceutical University (ZSMPhU), are undergoing practical training at the Regional Clinical Hospital. Their training takes place at the Department of Hospital Surgery, led by Professor Viktor Hubka.

Under the guidance of Associate Professor Serhii Vildanov, international students analyze various clinical cases and work directly with patients from the Transplantation and Hemodialysis Department.

Every day spent at the department enhances their medical knowledge and hands-on experience. Together with their instructor, the students examine patients after kidney transplantation and vascular surgeries, particularly procedures for creating arteriovenous fistulas to facilitate hemodialysis treatment.

Professor Viktor Hubka emphasizes that such practical sessions are invaluable for future doctors, who will soon begin their independent medical practice abroad. Experienced faculty members and skilled surgeons pass on their expertise, clinical skills, and surgical techniques, helping students master diagnostics, surgical procedures, and treatment protocols.

The sixth-year international students will have one more week of intense hospital training, full with engaging clinical cases and practical medical training.
