Final Assessment: Practical Skills Experience

Final Assessment: Practical Skills Experience

Second-year interns specializing in Radiology and Pathological Anatomy are taking their Final Assessment, demonstrating their practical skills according to the OSCE algorithm. Over the past one and a half years, they have trained at the Department of Internal Medicine, Radiology, and Radiation Therapy, headed by Professor Lanna Lukashenko. This department's faculty members oversee the assessment procedure. The heads of the assessment committees are Professors Mykhailo Kolesnyk and Serhii Tertyshnyi.
Interns must complete ten assessment stations, with four general stations for all candidates. These stations involve electrocardiography (ECG) recording and interpretation, hemorrhage control, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and intravenous (IV) injections. The interns must describe changes in computed tomography (CT) scans, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) results, X-ray films, and other diagnostic pictures at the remaining five stations, which are directly related to their chosen specialty. The final station involves working with a Virtual Patient, where candidates must solve clinical cases tailored to their chosen medical field.
Upon completing this stage of the Final Assessment, the interns will participate in an interview at the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Medicine, Radiology, and Radiation Therapy, where they will present case studies of notable clinical situations encountered during their practical training.
