Simulation Equipment in Surgical Practice

In the newly created Educational and Medical Training Center, which is one of the subdivisions of the Interdepartmental Training Center, intern doctors started to hone their practical skills and get into a real situation in the new improvised obstetrics, gynecology, urology, and surgery departments using a high-tech surgical female mannequin named Chloe S2100 (manufactured by Gaumard USA).

Various laparoscopic and laparotomic surgical interventions can be performed and simulated on the mannequin. In addition, it allows you to perform auscultation of the heart and lungs, assess the heart rhythm via an ECG, perform CPR and various types of intubations with a connection to a mechanical ventilation. After completing the work in the operating room, the applicants go to the debriefing room where they can discuss and analyze current and problematic issues.

This simulator helps and allows you to simulate such conditions as: septic abortion, termination of ectopic pregnancy, abdominal hysterectomy, hysteroscopy, postoperative bleeding, various neoplasms in the abdominal cavity and other types of complications that occur in medical practice. The presence of blood vessels allows interns and trainees to assess the quality of surgical suturing.

And the best part is that the Chloe mannequin is compatible with real surgical equipment and instruments. The total cost of the new improvised operating room and equipment is 12,450,000 UAH.

The operating room provides an opportunity to improve individual professional skills and abilities, ensures high efficiency of knowledge assimilation, and acquisition of the highest professional qualifications by future doctors.
